The Learning Arc social project aims to increase access to screening, provide teachers with proper guidance, and provide learning tools for children with disabilities from underprivileged communities.
Our journey begins by surveying parents to understand the challenges they face daily in supporting their children with learning differences, as well as the barriers students may face at school. Based on survey insights, we plan to curate and design an original teacher toolkit that explores alternative pedagogical approaches for teachers to incorporate into their lessons to improve students' learning outcomes.
To ensure equal access to early intervention, our project raised capital to subsidize early screenings for students from low-income backgrounds. We recognized that awareness is as crucial to students as access, so, in that vein, we also created a series of children's books that offer a clear idea of the many learning differences in an engaging and relatable way, which will help reduce stigma and foster empathy among youth. Through this multidisciplinary approach, we hope to increase access to and awareness of learning difficulties among underserved populations in India.
